Glacier Explorer Canoe Trip
Get close to the ice on this trip! You take the Alaska Railroad for a beautiful ride into the majestic Placer Valley. The train will drop you off in a pristine wilderness where a spectacular lake and glacier await your discovery. No roads lead to Spencer Lake, so be prepared for a true Alaskan experience. You will be provided with a bag deli-style lunch, which you can enjoy near the toe of the glacier on the banks of the iceberg filled Spencer Lake. The incredible surroundings provide humbling views of the massive glacier. Upon your arrival at Spencer Lake, your guide will prepare you for your exploration of the lake.

You will join our guides in a modern design of the Haida Native Alaskan dugout canoes. These elegant boats provide a comfortable and safe way to take in the astounding views of miles of ice! Travel up close to the glacier to view ice caves and crevasses. We will stop on the shore and hike up to the glacier (time and weather depending). Learn glaciology as you gaze upon the kettles and moulins. This trip has astounding views and provides a unique glacial experience that you cannot get anywhere else in Alaska.

All gear is provided for a safe and comfortable trip. Those not wishing to exert themselves may find our Glacier Discovery Raft Trip more appropriate, as you can sit back, relax and let your guide do the work.
